eSupport.com Winflash Proceedure

The installation process provides all files required to perform a BIOS update
using the Award Winflash BIOS Update utility. 

Installation procedure: 


1. Save/Download the provided WINFLASH.ZIP file to a folder on your hard drive.  
(e.g. C:\BIOS, C:\TEMP)

Note: Make a note of the path the file is saved to on your hard drive.


2. UNZIP the eSupport BIOS update ZIP file (E.g. 6A69XXXX.zip) to your hard disk. 

Do this by right clicking on the file and click unzip or extract (If you do not have an option to unzip, visit http://www.Winzip.com)


3. UNZIP the WINFLASH.ZIP file to your hard disk.

4. Close all other applications.
Note: This is a required step. Your system will be rebooted at the last BIOS Update window. 


5. Open Windows Explorer, browse to the directory you have chosen and double click Winflash.exe
Note: If you cannot see the extension on the files, such as .exe, go to View on the taskbar and choose Details.

Note: If Winflash says this BIOS is not an Award BIOS, you will need to update your BIOS via AMI's Winflash. Visit our eSupport site for details: http://www.esupport.com/techsupport/

Note: If Winflash says your BIOS is not compatible with the program, you will need to update your BIOS via a DOS based method. Visit our eSupport site for details: http://www.esupport.com/techsupport/  or call us as we can deliver a method via diskette.


6. On the taskbar, choose File -> Save Old BIOS. Click Save. Click Backup.
Note: A backup of your old BIOS has now been saved in that folder. Its called AWDBIOS.bin.


7. On the taskbar, choose File -> Update BIOS. Choose the eSupport BIOS update bin file (e.g. 6A69XXXX.bin) then click Open.  Click Update.


8. If the update was sucessful, the program will ask you to reboot. Chose yes if you have closed all your programs and saved your work. If you haven't choose no, close all programs and save your work, then reboot your computer.   If the update was NOT sucessful, please contact us immediately. Do you not shutdown your computer until the problem is resolved!

9. Once the computer resets, it will likely say that CMOS settings have changed. You should go into CMOS, usually by pressing the DEL key, and save the settings. For advanced users, at this time, if you wish, you may adjust CMOS settings to your liking.
